  • white onion (grated)

  • ham (chopped)

How to make espagueti blanco con jamón

First let’s make the sauce. Add the cream cheese, milk, black pepper and chicken bouillon to a blender.

Blend until smooth and set aside. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the spaghetti noodles. Cook until al dente according to the directions on the box.

While the spaghetti noodles are cooking, heat up the butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Once melted add the grated onion and the minced garlic. Cook for one minute.

The reason why I use grated onion is so that the sauce will have that onion flavor but without the texture of the onion thus ensuring a smooth sauce.

Tips

  • Roughly chop the softened cream cheese before adding it to the blender. This helps it to blend better.
  • Don’t forget to grate the onion so the sauce will have a smooth texture.
  • Use the ham of your choice. Cubed ham works well too.
  • Garnish the spaghetti with grated parmesan or crumbled queso fresco when serving.
