My husband and I love canned tuna.
There’s so many different recipes you can create with it.
A lot of people think canned tuna is boring but it doesn’t have to be.

Atún a la Mexicana is one of our favorite ways to eat tuna.
We probably have it at least two or three times a month. It’s just so easy.
Ingredients needed
Atún a la Mexicana is made with common ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen.
You’ll need canned tuna, roma tomatoes, onion and jalapeno.
What’s not pictured is garlic, oil, salt and pepper.

How to make it
First slice the veggies.

Heat up oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Once hot add the onion and jalapeno.
Cook for about 3 minutes and season with salt and pepper.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the tomatoes and reduce heat to medium low.
Cook for about 5 minutes or until the tomatoes have softened.

Then add the drained tuna and stir.
Cook for about 5 minutes. Then remove from heat.
The tuna is ready to be served.
It can be served with warm corn tortillas. That’s how my husband likes to eat it.
I just eat it with a fork.
It’s super delicious whichever way you choose to eat it.

Atún a la Mexicana
Atún a la Mexicana is an easy and yummy meal that can be made in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 3 cans of tuna drained
- 3 roma tomatoes
- 1 white onion
- 1 jalapeno
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 tbs vegetable oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions

Slice the veggies.

Heat up the oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot add the onion and jalapeno.

Cook for 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Stir and add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the tomatoes. Reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 5 minutes or until the tomatoes have softened.

Add the drained tuna and stir. Cook for 5 more minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool before serving.
