These tuna patties are a delicious and budget friendly meal that doesn’t take long to make and that the whole family will love! Serve them on a bed of lettuce or eat them on buns. However you choose they are yummy!

I always make sure to have canned tuna in my cabinet. Tuna all by itself is a quick and easy snack.
It’s also good in tuna tacos, tuna empanadas and tuna macaroni and cheese.
Tuna patty ingredients and instructions
- 17 oz canned tuna (drained)
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 5 tbs italian bread crumbs
- black pepper (a few cracks)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- oil
Put all of the above ingredients except for the oil in a large mixing bowl.

Mix the ingredients together with your hand until it is well combined.

Shape the mixture into five patties.

Heat up a skillet over medium heat. Add some oil to coat the pan. You don’t want to add enough oil to submerge the patties. What you want is just enough oil to coat the skillet and to lightly fry the patties.
Let the oil heat up for a couple of minutes. Then add two or three patties to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes.

Then flip the patties and cook for another 3 minutes. They should be nicely browned as shown in the photo below.

Then transfer the patties to a paper towel lined plate. Repeat with the remaining patties.

Now you can eat these patties as is, on a bun, on a bed of lettuce or however you want. I enjoyed mine over lettuce with lime juice squeezed over top. It was so delicious!
I hope you see that there are many things you can do with tuna instead of always making it the same way.
