Tostadas de Jaiba (Crab Tostadas)

You’re going to love these delicious tostadas de jaiba (crab tostadas).

It’s an easy dish to make. No cooking required.

All you have to do is combine the ingredients for Mexican crab cocktail and put it on the tostadas.

It’s something that’s perfect for the hot summer weather!

If you like Mexican shrimp cocktail then you’ll definitely like this recipe as it’s basically the same thing but with imitation crab meat in stead of shrimp.

This recipe is also referred to as coctel de jaiba (Mexican crab cocktail).

I recently made these tostadas and my husband and I devoured it in less than a day.

They were that good! I use imitation crab which is cheaper than the real thing but it’s just as delicious.

I like this version better because I don’t have to cook anything and with the shrimp version you have to cook the shrimp then chill them.

Now it’s time to chop up the imitation crab meat. This is the kind I used.

It says chunk style. I’ve also used flake style.

Either one is fine.

My husband Marco, loves this stuff. He likes to eat it on crackers with avocado.

Add the chopped crab meat to the bowl. Give everything a good mix with a large spoon.

Then add the garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, ketchup and clamato juice.

Give it another good mix.

Cover the bowl and transfer it to the fridge to chill for at least an hour.

This stuff is best served chilled.

Are you using full sized ie taco sized fried or baked corn tortillas as a base?

I’m using tostadas. You can get them at the grocery.
