Thin sliced ribeye steak and onions is a favorite recipe of mine. It’s so flavorful and goes great with a simple side of steamed rice and roasted peppers.
Thin Sliced Ribeye with Onions
Ingredients
- 2 lbs rib eye steak thinly sliced
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp rosemary leaves
- 3 tbs oil plus more as needed
- 2 yellow onion sliced
Instructions
-
Pat the steaks dry. Season them well on both sides with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and rosemary leaves.
-
Heat up a pan over medium heat. Add 2 tbs of the oil. Once hot, sear the steaks for about 2 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Transfer the steaks to a plate and cover with foil.
-
Add the remaining oil to the pan. Then add the onions and stir well. Cover the pan and let the onion cook on medium low heat for about 10 minutes.
-
Stir the onions again and scrape up any fond that is left on the pan. Let the onions caramelize for about 30 minutes. Make sure to stir every 5 minutes or so.
-
Return the steaks to the pan and mix well. Serve and enjoy.
