Homemade Flour Tortillas

These homemade flour tortillas are so addicting! They’re a thousand times better than the storebought ones! If you haven’t had the pleasure of tasting homemade flour tortillas I highly recommend you give this recipe a try!

Ingredients needed

All you need to make this easy recipe are five simple ingredients. They include flour, salt, baking powder, butter and water. These are staple ingredients that you most likely already have on hand.

How to make flour tortillas

Add the flour, salt and baking powder to a large bowl and mix well.

Next add the melted butter then slowly start mixing with your hand while slowly adding the water. Knead for about five minutes and shape into a ball. Cover the bowl and let rest for 30 minutes.

Then divide the dough into 8 equal sized balls.

Roll out the dough balls. Use a little flour if necessary. It’s totally fine if they’re not perfectly round!

Now it’s time to cook the tortillas. Heat up a skillet over medium heat. Cook the tortillas for about 1 minute on each side. The tortillas should bubble up as they’re cooking. Wrap the cooked tortillas in a clean kitchen towel.

  • 3/4 cup warm water
