Now that it’s May it’s warming up and so I’ve been making lots of yummy refreshing drinks. I prefer to make my own fresh juices and drinks. Not only is it a great way to use up fruit before it goes bad but I also get to control the amount of sugar that goes into my drink.

Ingredients needed:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • evaporated milk
  • regular milk
  • sugar
  • water

How to make this beverage

Start by washing, hulling and chopping the strawberries. Then put the chopped strawberries in the blender along with 3 cups of water. Blend for a minute or until smooth.

Next pour the strawberry puree into a pitcher. You can strain it into the pitcher if you prefer. I don’t since the strawberry seeds don’t bother me.

Then pour the condensed milk, sugar, evaporated milk and regular milk in the blender and blend until smooth. Then also pour it into the pitcher and stir.

Also in case you don’t have evaporated milk you can just add more regular milk. I like 2% but you can use whole milk if you prefer.

Then serve over lots of ice. You could also pour lots of ice cubes directly into the pitcher but I prefer not to because it will dilute the drink.

Make sure to store the agua fresca in the refrigerator.
