Chicharron en salsa verde is a quick and easy meal you can whip up in no time. It’s great as is with warmed corn tortillas or can be served with a simple side such as beans.

You’ll need chicharrones and salsa verde. You can use homemade or a store bought one.
I used a store bought salsa out of pure laziness.
Either way the chicharrones will be delicious.
How to Make Chicharron en Salsa Verde
Add 1 tbs of oil to a skillet and turn heat to medium.
Once oil is hot add the salsa verde.
Once the salsa is nice and hot add the chicharrones.
If you like your chicharrones soupy then you can always add more salsa or less chicharron.
I prefer mine on the drier side. I like it coated in the salsa but not like swimming in it.
How do you prefer to eat yours?
Let the chicharron soften a bit in the salsa for a few minutes then they are ready to serve!
I really like to serve these with refried black beans and warm corn tortillas.
The beans pair perfectly with the chicharrones and the flavor of the corn tortillas do so as well.
The tortillas do a great job at sopping up any leftover salsa or beans left on the plate.
You should be able to buy chicharrones at any Mexican market. You can also find them prepackaged.

- 1/2 lb chicharron
- 1 tbs vegetable oil
- 16 oz salsa verde
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the oil.
When the oil is hot add the salsa verde.
Let the salsa get hot then add the chicharrones to the skillet.
Let the chicharrones soften for a few minutes in the salsa. Then remove from heat and serve.
