Have You Heard About the Oil Cleansing Method?
Hey people, so it’s late and I’m not feeling tired yet so I figured I’d talk to you all. I hope you don’t mind. Tonight I want to talk to you about the oil cleansing method. I learned about it a year or two ago but have just recently been using it. I love it and I cleanse my face this way almost every day. Have you heard of it? It’s a natural way to clean your face using oils. In my opinion it’s the best. I know it doesn’t sound appealing but it really works!
The thought of putting oil on your face may gross you out especially if you already have oily skin but I promise you you’re gonna wanna try it out. The whole idea behind the oil cleansing method is that like dissolves like. So if you have dirt and oil on your face the cleansing oil is going to dissolve it.
I have only ever used coconut oil and sweet almond oil. Both worked great for me though I prefer sweet almond oil. I would say that my skin type is normal. I rarely ever get oily skin. Although middle school was a completely different story! I so wish I would have known about this method back then. I was always scrubbing my face and using such harsh cleansers hoping it would help. It never did. If you have oily skin I suggest that you avoid putting coconut oil on your face as it is comedogenic which means that it will clog your pores.
How to Oil Cleanse
All you need is your oil and a washrag. Pour out about a nickel sized amount of oil (or more if you need it) and massage it into your face. Do this for about a minute or two. Next turn on the hot water and get your wash rag wet. Ring it out and spread it out over your face. Leave it on for about 30 seconds. Now pat your face with the rag and try to remove as much of the oil as you can by patting. Rinse and ring out the rag again. Pat your face once again trying to remove the oil. You may need to do this two or three times before you can remove enough of it. Be careful not to rub your face. You don’t want to damage your skin and cause unnecessary wrinkles.
Your face should now be clean. It should also feel soft and look dewy! If your skin feels a little dry you can moisturize with a bit more oil or your favorite moisturizer. Lately I’ve been moisturizing my face with my sweet almond oil and a drop of Frankincense essential oil. Frankincense oil has been said to prevent signs of aging. After learning that I’ve been all over it.
Oil Cleansing Method Tips
- Pick out your choice of oil
- Use a headband to prevent oil getting in your hair
- Use a nickel or quarter sized amount of oil to massage into your face.
- Pat your face with the rag to remove the oil, do not rub.
- Moisturize your face with more oil if face feels dry after cleansing.
I am very passionate about the oil cleansing method. I feel that it works far better than any pricey store bought face cleanser. All of the facial cleansers that I’ve ever bought don’t even come close to how good this method makes my skin look and feel. Not to mention who knows what’s inside all of those store bought cleansers. With this method you know exactly what you’re putting on your face.
I really love how inexpensive this method is too. Y’all know I love doing things the thrifty way. I’ve found that the thrifty way of doing things is often the best way!
If you want healthy, beautiful clear skin then the oil cleansing method is for you! I hope you like it as much as I do. Thank you so much for visiting, I truly hoped you have enjoyed this post. If you try out this method I’d love to hear about your results.
See you soon!
