The prices of the  store bought lip balms are outrageous to me.

With this recipe you can make your own lip balm for pennies.

Plus I like the fact that I know exactly what is in it.

This homemade lip balm uses very moisturizing and hydrating ingredients.

It is sure to keep your lips soft and kissable all day long!

I think people are sometimes intimidated by the thought of making their own lip balms and personal items but I’m telling you it is so easy and quick!

It’s not complicated at all. A double boiler is not required. I make my own with a saucepan and a glass bowl.

DIY Lip Balm

This recipe makes enough for  5-6 tubes.  I usually like to make extra and give them to friends and family.

These diy lip balms are super moisturizing I like it way better than any store bought lip balm I’ve ever bought.

I really do and I feel proud knowing I can make it myself. Once you’ve made it a few times and feel comfortable with the process feel free to get creative as there are so many different ways you can customize your lip balm.

However you have to be careful to use enough beeswax as this is what keeps the balm nice and firm.

I know that some people put essential oils in theirs but I wasn’t completely comfortable with that since my kids use these and I’d rather stay on the safe side.

When filling the tubes don’t fill it all the way to the top. Leave about a half inch at the top because after filling they will be moved to the freezer to harden up and we don’t want the balm to spill down the sides of the tubes.
