This easy buffalo chicken dip recipe is my all time favorite dip! Buffalo dip is the perfect crowd pleasing recipe for game day or any kind of get together. There’s been times where I’ve had it for dinner just because it’s that good! I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like it. It’s a super easy recipe that can be easily adapted.
Surprisingly I am the only one in my house who likes buffalo chicken dip. My husband won’t touch it but he loves buffalo wings… weird, right? Actually now that I think of it he doesn’t like any kind of dip and that kind of freaks me out a little… That’s OK though because I get to devour this dip all by myself. I could practically live off it.
My mom always makes this at baby showers and everyone always loves it! I actually first tried this at my baby shower and I’ve been eating it ever since.
This dip is so easy to make and pretty impossible to mess up. I’ve made it many times using only sharp cheddar cheese or only mozzarella. Both were absolutely delicious. However my favorite cheese to use is a combination of sharp cheddar and monterrey jack. I always grate the cheeses myself, it really does taste way better that way. Buffalo Dip Grocery List
- 8oz block of cream cheese
- 12.5 oz canned chicken
- 8 oz of ranch dressing
- 8 oz buffalo sauce
- 8 oz block of sharp cheddar cheese
- 8 oz block of monterrey jack cheese
- green onions (optional)
Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe Steps
The first thing you want to do is soften the cream cheese. You can do this by leaving it on the counter for about hour like I do. Preheat the oven to 350. Now it’s time to grate the cheese. It’s best to grate your own for this recipe. I promise it taste so much better than the pre-shredded bagged cheese. Grate enough to make 1 cup of each cheese.
Unwrap the cream cheese and transfer to a pie dish. Add the canned chicken (drained), ranch, buffalo sauce, monterrey jack cheese, and half of the cheddar cheese to the pie dish as well.
Mix everything together well with a fork. Top with the remaining half of the cheddar cheese.
Transfer to oven and bake for about 25 minutes. It should come out hot and bubbly.
Now it’s time to enjoy it! I like to top it with chopped green onions when I have them (Green onions make everything better!). Serve the dip with tortilla chips or even celery. How do you serve the dip?

Buffalo chicken dip is perfect for game day!
- 8 oz block of cream cheese softened
- 12.5 oz canned chicken drained
- 1/2 cup of ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup of buffalo sauce
- 1 cup of monterrey jack cheese grated
- 1 cup of cheddar cheese grated

preheat oven to 350
put the softened cream cheese in an oven safe dish
to the cream cheese add drained chicken, ranch, buffalo sauce,monterrey jack cheese, and 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese
mix ingredients together and then top with remaining cheddar cheese
bake for 25-30 min or until hot and bubbly
