Good morning y’all today’s recipe is so simple but I feel that it’s worth sharing. I want to show you in my opinion what the best grilled cheese sandwich looks like. Grilled cheese sandwiches are one of our favorite meals. The best part is that it takes just a couple of minutes to make one. In order to make a good grilled cheese sandwich you don’t need any fancy cheese or bread. I use god old store bought white bread and cheddar cheese slices.
My favorite cheese to use is from Sargento. I think it has the best flavor and it melts really well. I very much prefer it over Kraft Singles which is what I think is the most traditional cheese used for grilled cheese sandwiches. If you haven’t tried it yet with Sargento cheese you really should!
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
First thing you want to do is heat up a cast iron skillet over medium heat. I always make mine in a cast iron skillet they are the best! While the skillet is heating up grab two slices of bread. Spread a generous amount of butter on one side of the bread.
Place the buttered slice of bread butter side down in the skillet. Then top with cheese. I like to use one and a half slices. This way the sandwich isn’t too cheesy or not cheesy enough. But it also depends on your taste. Add your desired amount of cheese.
Then butter the other slice of bread and close the sandwich butter side up.
Cook until the bottom of the sandwich is nicely browned. Then flip and brown the other side.
Now this is what I call the best grilled cheese sandwich ever!
The Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe
Once you taste it I’m sure you’ll agree that it really is the best grilled cheese sandwich!
- 2 slices white bread
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 slices cheddar cheese
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. While skillet is heating generously butter one side of one of the slices of bread.
Place the slice of bread buttered side down in the skillet. Top with the cheese.
Butter the other slice of bread and close the sandwich with the buttered side facing up.
Cook until the bottom of the sandwich is nicely browned. This shouldn’t take but a minute.
Next flip the sandwich over and brown the other side.
Serve and enjoy!
