Whole Wheat Tortillas

These whole wheat tortillas are very easy to make and are so incredibly flavorful. They’re made with butter and taste just as good as regular flour tortillas. I make them in a stand mixer which makes the whole process so much quicker!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 5 tbs melted butter
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl combine the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well.

  2. While mixing slowly add the butter and water. Mix for about 3 min or until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rest for 30 min.

  3. Roll out the dough into 15 tortillas. Use a little all purpose flour to help roll them out if necessary.

  4. Heat up a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook the tortillas one at a time for about a minute on each side. The tortillas should puff up. Transfer them to a clean kitchen towel and cover.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
