Everyone will love this easy cilantro lime rice recipe! It’s the perfect side dish to many of your favorite Mexican meals.
I’ve never actually had cilantro lime rice at a restaurant but I’ve heard of it plenty of times as it seems to be pretty popular.
Knowing what the main ingredients are I decided I could totally just make it myself. If you try my recipe you won’t be dissapointed!
This rice is big on flavor!
Cilantro Lime Rice Recipe Steps
The first thing you wanna do is fry your rice. So heat up a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot add one cup of long grain white rice. Fry it for a few minutes until the rice turns a nice golden color. Make sure to stir it so it toasts evenly.
Once that is done add 1 3/4 cups of water to the pot along with 1 1/2 teaspoons of chicken bouillon.
I like to use the Knorr brand.
Stir and taste. If you like you can add salt. But for me it is fine as is.
Bring the rice to a boil then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for about 20 min.
Then remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. Add the juice of one small lime to the rice along with 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro.
Fluff the rice with the fork to evenly distribute the lime juice and cilantro.
That’s all there is to it. See it’s extremely easy! I highly suggest you give it a try next time you make a Mexican meal!

- 1 tbs vegetable oil
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 1/2 cup cilantro chopped
- 1 lime juice of
