Agua de melon or cantaloupe agua fresca is a great way to use up ripe cantaloupe this summer. Not only is it delicious but it’s also very hydrating. This agua fresca is one the whole family will enjoy. Next, you should check out my agua de mango (mango agua fresca).

While I don’t dislike cantaloupe, it’s not on my list of favorite fruits.
However, it is quite delicious in drink form.
My husband loves cantaloupe and is always buying more than he can eat.
I hate it when fruit goes bad so before that could happen I thought, why not turn it into a delicious agua fresca?

What is agua de melon made of?
Agua de melon is made from just three ingredients which include cantaloupe, water and sugar.
You may not even need the sugar depending on how sweet the cantaloupe is.
The riper the cantaloupe the sweeter the agua fresca will be.
So it’s a good idea to taste the agua before adding any sugar.

Yes, besides being very hydrating eating cantaloupe has many health benefits.
If you’re looking to get the most health benefits out of drinking agua de melon then it’s best to omit the sugar.

How to make fresh cantaloupe juice?
This is a super easy recipe that doesn’t involve much work.
First chop up the flesh of the cantaloupe. Make sure to remove the seeds and discard.
Add the flesh to a blender along with the water and blend until smooth.
Then, strain the puree into a pitcher and stir in the sugar if using. Refrigerate until ready to serve or you can serve it immediately over ice.

Cantaloupe Agua Fresca/Agua de Melon
Cantaloupe agua fresca is delicious and refreshing during the hot summer months
Ingredients
- 1 whole ripe cantaloupe chopped seeds removed
- 4 cups of water
- sugar to taste
Instructions

Add cantaloupe and water to blender and blend for about 1 1/2 min.

Strain mixture into a pitcher.

Add sugar to taste and stir.

Serve over ice.
