Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Perfect for summer – Cool, sweet, and refreshing.
  • Simple ingredients – You only need peaches, sugar, and water.
  • Versatile – Great for everyday, but also special enough for cookouts, BBQs, and family gatherings.
  • Kid-friendly – No caffeine, no alcohol, just a wholesome fruit drink.

My Favorite Thing About This Recipe

One of my favorite parts about making this drink is picking up fresh, ripe peaches from my local farm. There’s just nothing like it! Farm fresh peaches taste so much better than the store bought ones, and when they’re blended into an agua fresca, the flavor really shines through.

If you can get your hands on ripe peaches from a local orchard or farmers market, I highly recommend it. It’ll take this drink to the next level!

What is Agua Fresca?

Agua fresca translates to “fresh water” in Spanish. These drinks are very popular in Mexico and are made by blending fresh fruit, seeds or grains with water and sugar. They’re light, refreshing, and a healthier alternative to sodas and bottled juices.

Ingredients

  • Peaches
  • Sugar
  • Water

How to Make Peach Agua Fresca

  1. Add the peach slices to a blender along with the sugar and 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove the pulp (this step is optional, but I prefer it smoother).
  3. Stir in the remaining 3 cups of water.
  4. Serve over ice and enjoy! Refrigerate any leftovers.

Tips and Variations

  • Adjust the sugar → If your peaches are extra sweet, you can reduce the sugar.
  • Make it sparkling → Swap 1–2 cups of the water with sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
  • Add a squeeze of lime → A little lime juice brightens the flavors even more.

Serving Suggestions

This agua fresca is perfect for:

  • Backyard BBQs and summer cookouts
  • Poolside snacks
  • Family dinners
  • Kid-friendly gatherings

It pairs especially well with dishes like tacos, Mexican pork ribs or even a simple ensalada de pollo (Mexican chicken salad).
