Hi! I’m Carissa, I am a young wife and mother to two beautiful kids named Jaime and Lucianne. Jaime is 4 and Lu is 2. I thank God everyday for them everyday. I never thought I would have two kids at only 24 but I’m loving every moment! I started this blog to document and share with the world all the yummy foods I make for my family. I wanted this blog to reflect our lifestyle so I named it “Thrift and Spice”. As a family of four on a low income we are always looking for ways to save money. Thanks to cloth diapers, thrift shopping and eating delicious home cooked meals we are able to live comfortably yet frugally.

Most of the recipes you find here are Mexican inspired. After meeting and marrying a man from Mexico, I fell in love with the food and I can’t get enough! I’m always looking to try out to new recipes. I hope you look around for a bit and find something you like!
