The Best Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 pasteurized eggs
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cans Milnot 12 oz each
  • 3 tbs vanilla extract
  • 5 cups milk I use 2%
  • crushed Ice
  • ice cream salt

Instructions

  1. Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl. Beat with a mixer until foamy.

  2. Slowly add the sugar to the eggs while continuing to mix.

  3. Then add the Milnot and the vanilla extract while still mixing.

  4. Pour the mixture into the ice cream canister.

  5. Then add the milk to the canister. Put the dasher in the canister and put on the lid.

  6. Put the canister into the ice cream maker. Layer the ice cream maker with ice and ice cream salt. Around 4-6 layers.

  7. Put the lid on and turn on the machine

  8. The ice cream should be ready in about 30 minutes.

  9. Serve and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • Use only pasteurized eggs.
  • Substitute with evaporated milk if you can't find milnot.
  • Do about 4-6 layers of ice and salt.
  • Add more ice and salt as needed.
  • If making ice cream inside do it over the sink so that the melted ice will drain into the sink.
