Ingredients

  • (2) 14.5 oz cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • (2) 16 oz cans of chili beans
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 tbs ground cumin
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tbs chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp roasted beef base
  • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 2 green bell peppers chopped
  • 1 jalapeno chopped
  • 2 lbs ground beef

Instructions

  1. Heat up a pot over medium heat. Then add the ground beef and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.

  2. Transfer the ground beef to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Leave about 2 tbs of grease in the pot.

  3. Next add the onion, bell pepper and jalapeno to the pot. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 8 minutes. Stir frequently.

  4. Then add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Return the ground beef to the pot and add the ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, celery seed and oregano. Stir well and let cook for 2 minutes.

  6. Next add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and chili beans to the pot. Then add the beef base, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and water. Stir well.

  7. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low and cover. Cook for 1-2 hours.

  8. Serve and garnish with your favorite toppings. Enjoy.
