Ingredients

Ingredients for the Filling

  • 1 stick butter salted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 29 oz can of sliced peaches drained

Ingredients for the Topping

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbs butter cut into cubes
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place the butter in a casserole dish and put it in the oven until the butter melts.

  2. Once melted, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and drained peaches. Mix well.

  3.  In a mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar.

  4. While mixing, add the cubed butter and mix for about 1 minute.

  5. Pour in the milk and mix until everything is well combined.

  6. Pour the batter evenly over the peach filling.

  7. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until the top is golden.

  8. If the top starts browning too quickly, loosely tent the dish with foil around the 30 minute mark. Serve warm.
