Toasted Cinnamon Spice Oatmeal

This toasted cinnamon spice oatmeal is a delicious and easy way to spice up your breakfast routine.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a pot over medium low heat.

  2. Once the butter has melted add the oats and toast them for 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir them frequently to prevent burning.

  3. Add the ground cinnamon and water. Stir. Bring to a boil then reduce heat back to medium low and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until most of the water has evaporated.

  4. Add the vanilla extract and stir. Remove from heat.

  5. Serve and enjoy.

If you want a very chewy oatmeal add just 2 cups of water. For a less chewy oatmeal add 3 cups.
