Ingredients

  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup dry duros
  • fresh lime juice to taste
  • hot sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat up a large deep frying pan over medium high heat.

  2. Add the oil to the pan.

  3. While waiting for the oil to heat up line a large pot with paper towels.

  4. Test the oil to see if it's hot enough by adding one duro to the oil. If it starts puffing up within a few seconds then it's ready.

  5. Add a small handful of duros to a large spoon then add them to the frying pan. Use a slotted spoon to move them around the pan so that they cook evenly. This will take about 30 seconds.

  6. Transfer the fried duros to the paper towel lined pot to drain.

  7. Repeat the above steps with the rest of the uncooked duros.

  8. Serve the duros with fresh squeezed lime juice and hot sauce and enjoy!
