Bean and cheese pupusas are the ultimate comfort food. They're filled with flavorful refried beans and delicious mozzarella cheese.
Add a tablespoon full of refried beans to the center of the pupusa and top with the shredded cheese.
Fold the pupusa as if making an empanada.
Shape it back into a ball.
Put the ball back into the bag and flatten it. Don't flatten it too thin. It should be thick.
Heat up a skillet over medium heat. Coat the skillet with oil.
Once the oil is hot add the pupusa.
Cook for 3-4 minutes then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Transfer cooked pupusa to a paper towel lined plate. Repeat above steps with the remaining five balls.
