Ingredients

  • 10 apples quartered (I used red apples)
  • 1 orange halved and peeled
  • 4 small cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 gallon water
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients except for the sugar in a large stockpot and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 3 hours.

  3. Strain the apple cider into a pitcher. Mashing the apple chunks to get all the juice out.
  4. Add sugar to the pitcher and stir until dissolved.
  5. Serve warm.
  6. When cool store in the refrigerator. Can also be served cold.
