Easy Stovetop Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 jalapenos chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 27 oz can of chile beans
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tbsp of ground cumin
  • 2 1/2 tbsp of chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp of dried oregano leaves
  • 1-2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium heat
  2. Drain browned beef on a paper towel lined bowl.
  3. Leave about 2 tbsp of grease in the pot.
  4. Add the onion, bell pepper, jalapenos, and garlic to the pot with the grease and saute for a couple of minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Return the beef to the pot.
  6. Dump in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, water, cumin, chili powder, oregano leaves, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and beef bouillon cubes.
  7. Stir well.
  8. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2 hours.
  9. Garnish with grated cheddar cheese and green onions.
