Ingredients

  • 1 1b thin spaghetti
  • 8 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 2 green onions chopped white and green parts
  • 5 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs sesame oil
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus more for garnishing

For the sauce

  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tbs maggi sauce
  • 2 tbs oyster sauce
  • 2 tbs rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir well. Set aside.

  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling add the spaghetti and cook to al dente according to the instructions on the box.

  3. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve about 1/4 cup of the pasta water for later use. Then pour the spaghetti into a strainer to drain.

  4. Toss the spaghetti in the sesame oil and set aside.

  5. Next heat up the butter in a wok over medium heat. Once melted add the minced garlic and the chopped green onion. Cook for a minute or two or until the garlic is fragrant.

  6. Next add the sauce to the wok and let it cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. Now its time to add the noodles, cheese and red pepper flakes to the sauce. Toss together well.

  8. If you want a thinner sauce, add a little bit of the reserved pasta water to the wok and toss.

  9. Serve and garnish with more parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy!
