Puerto Rican Eggnog (Eggless Coquito Recipe)

Puerto Rican eggnog also known as “coquito” is a delicious adult beverage that is super popular during the holidays!

Coquito is similar to eggnog in that it is thick and creamy.

If you are a fan of anything coconut flavored then you’re going to love this drink!

I first tried coquito at a very close friends house last year during Christmas.

I had never had it before and I was instantly in love with it.

The best thing about it is that there is no eggs in it and it’s so easy to make.

Eggnog was never really my thing I just don’t like the idea of eggs in my drink.

While eggnog and coquito are similar they definitely do not taste the same at all.

If you also don’t like eggnog then I highly suggest you try the tropical Puerto Rican eggnog “coquito”.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Puerto Rican Eggnog Ingredients

So what I really like about this drink is it’s simplicity.

It’s crazy easy to whip up.

All it takes is six ingredients which are evaporated milk, cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, canned coconut milk (not pictured) ground cinnamon (not pictured) and white rum (not pictured).

Just pour all of the ingredients including 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon and 1 cup of rum into a blender and blend for a couple of minutes until well blended.

And that’s all there is to it!

You can pour the coquito into a pitcher and chill it in the refrigerator or you can serve it immediately over ice.

I prefer to drink mine over ice because it helps to thin it out a little.

I used one cup of rum in my recipe but you can totally start with a lesser amount and see how it tastes before you add any more! We like ours strong!

Coquito recipes vary.

Some include eggs.

I think it’s great to experiment and see what you like!

Coquito is fantastic. Our friends from Puerto Rico introduced us to it one Christmas. I've also bottled it and given as gifts or as a hostess gift.
